Kallu's shop is one of the seven burnt Muslim shops from sector 66 of #Gurugram that was targeted, looted, and reduced to ashes during the violent events that unfolded. His shop selling mattresses and coolers was a sole source of his income. He faced a loss of 3 lakh rupees. The Muslim shops were targeted, looted, and burnt in several parts of the state due to the violence that erupted during a procession in the Muslim-dominated Nuh district. The procession was organized by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal. We aim to rebuild Kallu's shop and empower him to reclaim his livelihood and sense of security. We visited Muzaffar Nagar to meet Ayesha, a gangrape Survivor of the 2013 Riots. She endured ‘unspeakable’ horrors as she was gangraped by 3 ‘Hindu’ men, in front of an ‘infant’ son, Ayesha’s story is of a fighter, and a mother who refused to be silenced After a relentless 10-year-long struggle, on May 9, 2023, the district court in Western Uttar Pradesh finally delivered justice. Sikandar and Maheshwar, the individuals responsible for the rape, were found guilty and convicted. However, Ayesha's journey towards justice was fraught with obstacles, threats, and intimidation. The financial burden of fighting the legal battle left the family in dire straits, unable to provide education for their children. Abdullah, Ayesha's husband, is a skilled tailor, but wherever he found employment, the convicted rapists would intimidate the employers and force him out of work. This constant harassment has caused immense distress for the entire family. Additionally, Abdullah is currently suffering from severe stomach infections, further exacerbating their already difficult circumstances. Miles2Smile is committed to standing alongside the survivor's family as they strive to rebuild their lives. We have taken on the responsibility of covering Abdullah's medical expenses, and our next step is to enroll the children in our "Shaagird" project, ensuring they receive education and support. Through this fundraiser, our aim is to provide the family with a dignified means of livelihood, giving them a fresh start. The Hindutva extremists not only destroyed his shop but also looted his home, leaving him with nothing.This is not an isolated incident but a part of a larger pattern of violence against Muslims in Bihar Sharif, Nalanda during the Ram Navami Shobha Yatra of March 31, 2023.The rise of Hindutva extremism has led to an increase in hate crimes against the Muslim community, which results in the economic destruction of many Muslim-owned businesses.Jalaluddin's shop was not only a source of income but also a means of survival for his family. False Love jIhad Case leaves a Muslim family miserableOn April 8, 2022, in the village of Dindori in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, 24-year-old Asif Khan got married to a girl Sakshi (Now Afreen Asif Khan) in Chaatisgarh’s Dantewada Mandir. Despite Afreen, 23, affirming her will for her marriage with Asif, Hindutva groups didn't spare the interfaith couple. Just a few days later, under the influence of the Hindutva groups, an FIR was lodged against the Khan's family by Sakhshi’s brother, accusing them of kidnapping and forceful religious conversion. Following the FIR, on April 25, 2022, house and shops of Asif Khan’s father Haleem was demolished by SP & SDM Dindori with 500 police personnel at the site claiming the construction was unauthorized.In recent times, the anti-conversion laws and the fabricated narrative based on allegations and conspiracy theory of Muslim men “luring” Hindu women into marriages to convert them have led to assaults on interfaith couples by Hindu right wing organizations have been on the rise.https://youtu.be/NxUokBC5CQ8We are sharing this appeal with a heavy heart after witnessing the deplorable conditions of the family. Since we received numerous requests from people asking if they could assist the survivors in earthquake hit Turkey, we have decided to communicate with the Turkish embassy and arrange for a fundraising campaign.Today, we found out that the Turkish embassy in Delhi released a message on their website saying it will collect blankets, clothes and other materials and fly them “in a speedy and prioritized manner” to Turkey. As a community, we felt it is our sacred obligation to extend support to all people who have survived this disaster. According to the reports from the region, close to 10,000 people have lost their lives and many are still under the rubble and are yet to be found. Thousands of people are homeless in cold weather conditions or they cannot enter their homes. Your urgent support and assistance to earthquake victims are very important and vital. Mohammad Salim is a resident of Mustafabad in North East Delhi. There are 6 members in his family including his wife and 4 kids. During the Delhi pogrom 2020, his shop was burnt along with the rented accommodation they were living in. Miles2Smile Foundation helped Salim in getting an accommodation along with all the household essential items while also ensuring the education of his kids through "Shaagird" Initiative.The Foundation also helped him in opening a grocery shop that Salim ran in the Covid-19 times. Since the last year, he is running a rented auto that is helping him earn a meager sum and he is barely able to sustain his family. The fear of not having any savings for any unforeseen event like the violence he saw, is filling him with anxiety.If the fundraise amount is reached, he will be able to make the down payment for the auto & will pay the rest over amount through EMIs.

Winter wishes: Donate for warm blankets & jackets to needy kids at our Madarsa at Delhi & Nuh As the harsh winters are fast approaching, we have initiated a donation drive to provide around two hundred blankets and jackets to the underprivileged students studying in our madarsas to protect them from the bitter cold. Any donation that you may find within your reach will allow us to better insulate and protect these underprivileged students who have to encounter severe winter weather every year. Relief Assistance For The Family of Israel, who succumbed to his injuries while in police custody in Guna Madhya PradeshOn Thursday, November 24, at around 10 pm, 30-year-old Israel died in police custody in the Guna district of Madhya Pradesh. He was detained by four station police officers while he was on his way to home from attending a 3 day ijtema (relegious congregation ceremony) in the outskirts of Bhopal city.Israel had bought clothes for his children on his return from Bhopal. He was a wage laborer and the sole bread earner in the family which comprised his father, wife, 3 daughters and 8-month-old son. They are all orphaned now. “Who’s going to provide for them” is the question that lingers with Israel’s father now. When a person dies, he can't be brought back. There is no alternative, no substitute. He is too old to ensure a good future for his grandchildren.Miles2Smile foundation is also heartbroken at this devastating act of hate and the non indemnified loss to his family. We understand that there is little we can do to ease the grief and trauma that Israel and his extended family are going through, but we planned to start this fundraising campaign to raise money for his wife and the orphaned children. Rebuilding livelihood for the victim families of Siwan violence 2022
Recently, during the Mahavir Akhara Rally in Barharia, Siwan, Hindu radicals launched a series of attacks on Muslim homes and businesses. We are raising this fund to help four victims who we have found to be the worst affected. Though the violence got some coverage in the media, not many know about the aftermath. The four victims who need our assistance have lost their businesses which served as their sole source of earning a living. They come from lower- to middle-class families. The sudden disruption of sources of their livelihood has made situations unbearable for their families.Miles2smile wants to lend a helping hand to all the four distressed families whose livelihoods have been severely harmed at the hands of violent Hindu mobs.The goal of this fundraiser is to disburse 4 lakhs to the four victims so that they can rebuild their businesses.
