Despite the violence and clashes that occurred in Bahraich, we have witnessed the strength and resilience of its residents. However, the strength and resilience have a devastating tragedy. With the losses of the survivors, it seems like a wave swept away their entire accumulated wealth.

Miles2Smile went on the ground to learn about these losses. We have learned about many stories, but there are a few that have hit the hardest. Syed Ali’s story is surely one.

On an awful day, Syed Ali (60) and his son Anwar Ali (25) lost their entire savings of years.
Syed Ali, a vegetable vendor, reported that a furious mob armed with swords, knives, sticks, and other heavy weapons stormed in their area, causing widespread destruction and loss.

He further alleged that the mob set fire to everything, instilling tension and fear in the vicinity.

With tears in his eyes, Syed Ali told Miles2Smile that his belongings, including the vegetables used for his business, and his house were turned into ashes, and he couldn’t do anything but weep.

“There were 200 men; first they burned the shop, then they set the house on fire.” He added.

Syed Ali sits in front of his semi-burnt house with ashes of its furniture and vegetables. He waits for help, but how long will he wait? He doesn’t know.
Syed Ali’s wait can be over with our help.

We can rebuild his happiness with kindness and unity.

Together we can give him his house and his business; for that we need:

For rebuilding his house: Rs. 2,50,000

For purchasing vegetables and rebuilding his business: Rs. 50,000

Miles2Smile is ready to shorten his wait, are you?
