Nasir and Junaid, two friends from Ghatmika village, were ripped away from their families in a horrific act of violence in February 2023. They were brutally kidnapped, lynched, and their bodies burned beyond recognition in an attempt to erase their identities. Junaid leaves behind a wife and 5 children, their world shattered by this unimaginable loss.
The trauma was unbearable for Junaid’s 14-year-old daughter. Just last month, she succumbed to the grief, leaving the family with another gaping hole in their hearts.
Miles2Smile Foundation is standing with this devastated family, offering them a lifeline in their darkest hour. Imagine the unimaginable – a wife who has lost her husband, a mother who buried her daughter to heartbreak. Now, she must find the strength to carry on for her remaining children.

Junaid’s wife needs help to rebuild their lives. Every contribution will go towards:
- Livelihood: Junaid’s wife needs capital to restart her small shop. We need to help her purchase goods, furniture, and cover household expenses (ration and other necessities) for the next year. This will amount to Rs. 2.5 Lakhs for initial setup and Rs. 72,000 (Rs. 6,000 per month) for household needs.
- Education: Two of Junaid’s children are enrolled in a boarding school, while the remaining two require support for a learning center. The total cost for education is Rs. 1.1 Lakhs (Rs. 80,000 for boarding and Rs. 30,000 for the learning center students).
- Healthcare: To ensure the family’s well-being, we need to allocate Rs. 30,000 for healthcare expenses.
