Years after the separation from her husband, Meena Khatoon started believing in a life without financial uncertainty as her only son Aayan Safi was entering into the emerging adulthood phase of his life, slowly but firmly, ready to be the breadwinner of the family. Khatoon’s days were spent in prayers for Saifi’s health and livelihood. Unfortunately, the same hands are now held up for prayers for Saifi’s hereafter. 

Meena Khatoon has lost her single son in a gruesome murder on the evening of April 30, 2026. His 16-year-old son Aayan Saifi was stabbed to death. According to the family, Saifi was deliberately targeted by a group of young men over a prior brawl he was not involved in. The barbaric incident took place near a local park in Delhi”s Trilokpuri. According to the family, as many as seven men arrived at the park, surrounded Saifi and began attacking him with knives. Despite attempting to defend himself, Saifi was overpowered and suffered fatal injuries, eventually taking his life. 

With the death of Saifi, Khatoon’s life became somber, with no one to give her a shoulder to cry on. Khatoon became alone and lonely. Her days now walk streets of worry: what will happen next? Who will take care of her? How will she spend her days and her life without income?
